Opening and Manipulating Windows

If you have ever been near any of the homepages in Geocities or Tripod, you must be familiar with the small window that pops up with an advertisement banner. Undoubtedly, you considered it irritating and in bad taste.  I agree they can be anoying but they have there uses.

Pop-up windows are usually used when you want to display something to the users but you don't want them to leave the page that they are currently viewing (Perhaps you are afraid that they might not return).

Explorer 7.0 as a Manditory Security Patch. We Site Owners Beware!

Microsoft has done it again by releasing a tool that doesn't follow W3C CSS standards.  Explorer 7.0 translates CSS (the style, image placement, and font definitions) differently than most other browsers.  This means your site may look different or not work at all in Explorer 7.0. 

This revelation may not be as devastating if Microsoft decided to release this browser as an optional upgrade.  Unfortunately, Microsoft has decided to add this upgrade to the Critical Updates.  This means that everyone could be converted to this new tool within a month.

Website owners and operators need to be ready for this change before it affects revenue.
